- +What is goTele?
goTele is an off-grid tracker that uses GPS and long range radio technology to help you and whoever you’re with share location, communicate and stick together no matter where you are, keeping your group safe. Pair goTele with your smart phone via BLE, and you can use the app to view group locations and tracking information, even if your phone doesn’t have service
- +Does everyone in my group need a goTele?
Yes. At least 2 goTele devices are necessary for its features to work.

- +How does goTele’s transmission work?
Similar to a walkie-talkie, goTele uses long range radio technology to transmit&receive information.
- +What is the battery life of a goTele?

- +How do you charge goTele?
goTele uses the standard Micro USB interface and can be charged with any standard Micro USB cable through a USB port, standard USB charger, or portable source.
- +Does goTele work internationally?
There is no geographical restraint on goTele's use, but it is necessary to understand the radio laws and regulations of the use area. The GPS signal is global. As long as the area is not roofed in in such a way as to block the GPS signal, your goTele will work.
- +Does goTele still work while charging?
Yes. If you find your battery is nearly dead during use, you can charge it directly with a portable battery and use it while charging.
- +Where can I download the goTele app?
The official goTele website, App Store, and Google Play. Simply search “goTele”.
- +How does goTele work without the app?
You only need the app:
- when you connect goTele with mobile phones.
- When you need to see your group members’ location and trajectory tracking
- When you look for SOS signals when rescuing members
The above situation are the only times you need the app. Other than that, goTele works on its own. GoTele doesn’t rely heavily on your phone. For example, as explained in our campaign video, pets can wear goTele and someone in the group with the app can track the pets’ location. As long as the group member has the goTele device, anyone in the group with the app can track the location of that member.
- +Is Bluetooth going to kill my smartphone’s battery life?
No. Bluetooth-LE - aka Bluetooth Low Energy (or?Bluetooth 4.0) - is a new standard which addresses the power drain of the old Bluetooth technology. It’s also a lot easier to pair with!
- +If you’re tracking someone, do you see their location on the app interface? Is there a radius you have to be within?
Yes. It needs to be within the scope of effective communication, which is based on the terrain.
The range varies because of different terrain. Like we mentioned above, in outdoor Open Space: goTele can work within 3- 5 KM (1.8-3.1 miles). In a city where there are a lot of objects, goTele works within 1-3 KM (.6-1.8 miles).
- +Is the SOS notification texted to me?
Yes. If you have paired your goTele with your smart phone.
- +If my phone dies can I?send a SOS notification?
Yes. With the simple push of a button on the goTele device you can send an SOS notification even if your smartphone is dead. Once the SOS notification is sent, any group members’ goTele paired with an active smartphone will get a notification.
- +If my phone dies can I receive a SOS notification?
No. In order to receive SOS notification, you need to have both the app and goTele.
- +How is goTele able to create a private wireless network?
Each goTele has a transmitter and receiver inside. gotele doesn't rely on relay stations to function. Each goTele has a range that it can send and receive signals. As long as units are in range of each other they can communicate with each other.
- +Am I going to receive extra charges for this by my service provider?
No. Apart from getting goTele itself, you don’t need to pay any extra fees.
- +Why do I need a private secure wireless network? Can’t I use an ad-hoc network?
goTele uses a proprietary long range radio technology to create a private secure wireless network , that will more power saving than ad-hoc network.
- +Does goTele support Google, OpenStreet, and Contour maps?
Yes. You can download off-line maps, when your mobile phone network or Wi-Fi is available
- +Why do I need goTele for this? Can’t I just use the Google Maps app?
goTele can let you to know all the group members’ locations . The Google Maps app can’t do this.
- +Is goTele waterproof?
Yes, it is waterproof, and the waterproof level is 7 (can soak for 30 minutes under the standard atmosphere of 1 m deep water).

- +What temperatures can goTele operate in?
goTele's operating range is from -4°F/-20°C to 140°F/60°?C.
- +Is goTele shockproof?
Yes, goTele is shockproof. From a height of 5 feet, even if you drop each of the six surfaces onto the ground five times, goTele will be undamaged.
- +How does the trajectory tracking keep track of people in real time?
goTele can send out its GPS locations through the radio signal. Other goTele devices will receive and store the locations, connecting them to form a trajectory.
- +If you’re tracking someone, do you see their location on the app interface? Is there a radius you have to be within?

- +Can you know someone’s location even if you don’t have a goTele device but have the app downloaded?
No. If you want to know someone’s location, you need to have one goTele paired with your phone in order to receive the location of other group members.

1)After your friends, family, or pets are added to your group, goTele will automatically share their location to all group members.
2)After joining the group, you can send your location through the chat window to all your friends manually.
3)After joining the group, pressing the SOS button will send all members SOS information on the sender's location, even if they don't have the app downloaded.
